NAME

Filter::PerlTags::Extra - More mixed Perl/HTML, with some CGI built-in

VERSION

Version 0.01

SYNOPSIS

    #!/usr/bin/perl -w
    use Filter::PerlTags::Extra;
    <html>
    <body>
    <form method="post">
    <select name="mysel">
    <? foreach (0..9){ ?>
        <option value="$_" <? $_ eq $Q{mysel} && ?> selected="selected"
        ><? print chr(65+$_); ?></option>
    <? }  ?>
    </select>
    </form>
    You've been on this page
<? $SESSION{count}++ ; ?> $SESSION{count} times today!
    </body>
    </html>

The module sends a session cookie in the header. That is all. If you want more, you'll probably need to look elsewhere, or ask me for features.

ALL the additions to the code are done per line and do not break lines, so if your script breaks, and you'll see the errors because of fatalsToBrowser, the line numbers you see should correspond EXACTLY with those in your source.

EXPORT

This is a filter, so it doesn't exactly export things, but you will end up with some variables in your space:

    %SESSION

A session cookie is sent to the browser and any modifications you make to %SESSION are stored and reloaded next time the user visits (temporary though)

    %Q

As got by CGI->Vars. This contains the data from GET, POST, etc.

Also, the filter adds the following to the start of your code:

    use CGI qw/:standard :cgi-lib/;
    use CGI::Carp qw(fatalsToBrowser);
    use CGI::Cookie;
    use MIME::Base64;
    use Data::Dumper;
    use Time::HiRes qw/time/;

So all the exports from that are in your space too, lucky you!

The results of

    CGI::Cookie->fetch;

are stored in

    %COOKIES
